3 Enemies of Joy Serving and the Gospel

“Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;” Philippians 1:27

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” Acts 16:25

There are three enemies to Joy, Serving, and the Gospel, which we, in the United States of America, face on a daily basis:

  • Affluence – “I have much!”
  • Consumerism – “I need more!”
  • Entitlement – “I deserve it all!

The biggest danger that all three of these words pose to Christians is that they all cause us to focus on self.
