Biblical Character: Loyalty, Part 2

“And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.” 1 Samuel 14:13

I have struggled with preaching on the topic of “loyalty.” Allow me to explain why. If I were to get up on Sunday morning and, from behind this pulpit, make the statement, “You need to be loyal to God,” I would get a hearty round of “Amen’s.” However, if were to make the statement, “You need to be loyal to the pastor of your local church,” I might get a few “Amen’s” but I would also get a response of, “Where’s Pastor Campbell going with this?” Some, while they would agree with my first statement, would be extremely slow to agree with the second statement.

Message preached on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 by Pastor Joseph Campbell. Click here for Pastor Campbell’s sermon notes.
