Biblical Character: Patience, Part 1

Tonight, I am going to quickly get into what will probably be our last Biblical character trait that we will look at this year and it is by far one of the most difficult Biblical character traits to see developed in our lives. Yet, it is a character trait that almost all of us do desire because we realize that it is a trait that we desperately need! That is the character trait of “Patience.”

The great New England preacher Phillips Brooks was noted for his poise and quiet manner. At times, however, even he suffered moments of frustration and irritability. One day a friend saw him feverishly pacing the floor like a caged lion. “What’s the trouble, Mr. Brooks?” he asked. “The trouble is that I’m in a hurry, but God isn’t!”

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” James 1:3
