In Acts chapter 9, shortly after his salvation, Paul sought to make a connection with the church in Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the members, particularly the disciples, were afraid of Paul and unwilling to make a connection with him. It was not until Barnabas “made a connection” and established a relationship with Paul, that Paul was able to find entrance into the local church and acceptance by the members of the local church.
“But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.” Acts 9:26
