May Christ Be Seen in Me: An Introduction to the Life of Joseph

One of my favorite Old Testament Bible characters is Joseph – but it has nothing to do with his name. The main reason that I like Joseph is because of my life’s verse, Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Joseph’s life is a living testament to the truth of that verse! We read, in Genesis 50:19-20:

“And Joseph said unto them [his brothers], Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

In fact, many people look at those verses as the key verses for the life of Joseph.

While we will definitely be looking at those verses, I do not want to begin there.

I want to begin by asking you this question for you to consider: Why did God include the story of the life of Joseph in God’s Word?
